A Little Spring on a Dreary Day

When I missed my art class (a early birthday gift from hubby) I was
quite disappointed.  However, it started while I was down with my gall bladder issues
and there was just no going.

Daughter wasn't feeling well on Monday so we did a light day of school.
Hit the algebra, history, and language arts and nothing more.

I obviously had a little more free time than I planned on
so I pulled out all my supplies and played around with my new oil paints.

Quite a fun and relaxing way to spend a day!

Tomorrow we're off for an orthodontist appointment.
The doctor has told us he's ready to start finishing up with daughter -- praise the Lord!
I think that just cutting those trips to town will make life seem more free...lol.

  1. That's beautiful, Shara!

We are still waiting for that day when the orthodontist says it's time to take the braces off. This has been a very long haul for us, but worth it. I have told the orthodontist that both daughters will begin university in the fall and won't be available for weekday appointments, and I'm hoping that information hurries things along!

  2. That is beautiful, Shara! I understand the freedom that comes from cutting down on those trips to town because of the orthodontist appointments. My daughter had weekly allergy shots for five and a half years. By the time it was over I had been done with it for a couple of years. I never want to have to do that again.

  5. Hi Shara, your painting is so bright and beautiful! I am happy to hear that your daughter dentist visits will soon be scaled down. I remember going through that myself, it does take up a lot of time and energy. How cute the little animals are in your last post. I had to smile when you said crocheting made your daughter's math skills improve. If I had had just one teacher, explain to me that I could use math in crocheting I would have done so much better too!

I always struggled with math because I have a dyslexia problem with numbers. Not with letters, only numbers. It was a nightmare for me whenever I had a column of figures to add up. But wouldn't you know over the course of time, I would go into two fields of work that take a great deal of math, electronics and pharmacy, and then take up knitting for my hobby! I never solved my number problem but I learned to do the math very fast so that I could check it over and over as I did my work to make sure of my accuracy. I guess I love a good challenge, either that or I'm too stubborn when people tell me I can't do something. :) I hope you have a wonderful day ahead Shara and find the time to enjoy more painting! With Love, Delisa :)

    1. Delisa, I wish I had been taught multiplication in the form of crocheting and knitting. :-)

Sometimes I think the visual part of knitting/crocheting and the fact that it feels useful help make it easier than just looking at problems on paper.

  6. I remember the orthodontists appointments as well as the years of weekly allergists appointments. I'm sure your daughter is just as happy as you are with the prospect of getting her braces off. Congrats to both of you.
