Chocobo from Final Fantasy video games
By far this project has the most pieces of any she has tried to date.
Eagle and white wolf -- gifts carefully selected and made for her dad.
Red Dragon --- most complicated made yet.
We used a Japanese pattern and had to interpret the graphs and guesstimate the rest.
Her next project is a panda for her nephew.
I can't believe he should be here in about 6 weeks.
Those are very impressive! Well done to the both of you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lesley. So far she's shown no interest in anything other than animals and video game characters, but that isn't too surprising since she loves both. I hope it will instill the love of crocheting in her and give her a skill to take into the future.
DeleteHi Shara,
ReplyDeletethose are adorable! I think learning any sort of skill boosts a girl's self-esteem. And crochet is a skill she can use the rest of her life.
Thanks Lili. She was excited when her dad took his animals to work to display on his desk. I've told her if nothing else she can keep all the children caught up with more toys than they need. :-)
DeleteThose are absolutely lovely, and I guess you and your daughter had a great time making them :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Hilde. We did have a great time making them. Since we homeschool I feel like so much of our time together is required "work." It is always great to do projects just for fun.
DeleteWow, those are terrific, Shara! She should definitely be proud of those.
ReplyDeleteThanks Belinda. She's to the point she can read the patterns on her own (minus the Japanese chart) and all I do is guide her if she asks.
DeleteIsn't it just the sweetest thing to see our girls becoming accomplished in the skills and traditions that have been handed down? Anna and I just started a year-long crochet along that I'll be posting about later this week -- maybe you and your daughter could join us?! We're crocheting a single granny square each week, so the time commitment isn't high, and we're only four weeks in, so it would be easy to catch up for a couple of speedy crocheters like you two. :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings, ~Lisa
We would love to join in.
