Thank You

Thank you all for your prayers.  I'm pleased to say this MRI was  less frightening than the first.  I reminded myself I had done it once, said a little prayer, and just practiced calm breathing.  Not much else I figured I could do.  Now I just have to wait for the results.

As a treat hubby took us out to the Italian restaurant....I would say a, but in my small world there is only one so it is indeed "the" Italian restaurant.  It was our splurge for the month and will come out of our entertainment budget.

Our area is getting ready for possible snow and ice.  Doesn't happen a lot here and when it does things tend to grind to a halt.  I'm breaking my bread rule and having hubby pick up 2 loaves.....sadly we stand a chance of  losing power from icy tree branches falling on lines or things like that.  When hubby and I discussed things this morning he decided he'd rather I spend my time baking cookies....mercy, does he love cookies...lol.  I'll also be putting on veggie soup in the crockpot tonight after supper and cooking a quiche.  All can be eaten over the weekend with or without snow.

Life is a little different here when it snows since it is so rare.  They may salt a few bridges, but for the most part things just shut down.  People stay home and take it as a "free" holiday from God.  Kind of nice.

While I'm really expecting little accumulation, just to be safe I have my supplies for snow cream on hand...lol.

  1. I'm glad your MRI is over, and that it wasn't as bad s the first one.

When it snows here, Seattle, everything grinds to a halt, too. My kids got a 6 day weekend last year because of about 3 inches of snow. The cities here just don't have the plows and sanding trucks to get to more than the highways and freeways. And so much of our area is hilly, so the school buses can't make it to some neighborhoods. I hope you keep your power, but at least you're prepared in case.

  2. We have a similar problem here when it snows. We had quite a lot last week (for us). When my daughter left for school at 8am it wasn't even snowing; by 11am the school was shut! Fortunately I live within walking distance of a supermarket so it isn't really a major problem, just an inconvenience. I hope your power stays on! Still praying while you wait your results.

  3. Glad the prayer and breathing did its magic for your MRI, Shara. How nice to get an Italian dinner out of the deal. :) Isn't it nice to know ahead of time, and to prepare, for troublesome weather conditions? We've only had a couple light snows here this year -- lots of freezing temps, but little snow or ice, thankfully. The power did go out one morning when it was below freezing due to a car that slid into a power pole along the road. We immediately put a kettle of water onto the woodstove for coffee or tea and then fried our eggs on the woodstove, too. Made my kids think I'm amazing. :) Will keep you in my prayers, dear Shara. :) Blessings!
